Donations support:

From 2009 to 2019, participation in our Summer Reading Program (SRP) increased by nearly 200%. Over the past 3 summers, participation has steadily increased, recovering from the impact of the pandemic. We serve an incredible number of SRP participants for a community our size, with 3077 participants in 2022. In 2023, please help us set an all-time high number of participants!

We offer an array of different levels for individual and corporate sponsors to support this much-loved community program. Visit our Summer Reading Program Sponsor webpage for more information.

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Fundraiser:

Due to significant community demand, the Foundation is currently accepting donations to help support the Louisville Public Library's collection of materials that address issues of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI). All funds donated will be used by library staff to build a collection that:

·       Responds to current events and community interests

·       Teaches cultural literacy at all levels, from picture books to teen and adult fiction and non-fiction

·       Builds a more diverse and inclusive library collection

·       Adds copies, in available formats, of a curated collection of high-demand titles

Donors interested in supporting this effort should indicate "DEI" in the memo section of their check.

Donations to the Foundation support many of the library’s most popular programs and materials, including:

Other Ways to Support the Foundation

Utility Bill Fundraising Campaign: Respond to this annual fundraiser, held in November each year, by making a donation via check or online donation.

Louisville Public Library Foundation as your charity organization. A portion of all purchases made through smile.amazon.com will benefit the Foundation.

Corporate Giving: Local businesses and service clubs support our Makerspace and the breadth of programs offered at the Louisville Public Library.

Matching Gifts: Some employers match their employees’ charitable gifts. Check with your Human Resources department to see if your company supports a matching plan.

Supporting the Endowment: The endowment is a long-term investment fund that supports the future of the Library. Each year the Foundation uses funds from the endowment’s earnings and interest to fund library services and materials, while assuring that the principal remains in place.

Tribute Gifts: Some of our donors give to celebrate birthdays or special events or to remember friends and family members at their passing. A tax-deductible donation of $30 or more allows a library staff member to select a book or books to commemorate a loved one, inscribing a memorial book plate with the honoree’s name. Contact Jill Siewert at (303) 335-4812 for more information.

Planned Giving: A gift through your will or living trust contributes to the long-term sustainability of the Library Foundation’s endowment and is a commitment to the future of library service to area residents. After consulting with your attorney and financial planner, please let us know if you intend a charitable contribution to the Library Foundation to help ensure that future generations will know the rewards of an excellent public library.
